Cyberlaw Asia is a voluntary platform that enables not only the dissemination of Information about various judicial and legislative trends around the growth of Cyber legal jurisprudence in Asia but also is the focal body which is aimed at creating more awareness about the need for having in place strong and stringent Cyber laws in Asia.

In the coming decades, Asia is going to call the shots. However, the Asian continent has got a number of member nations , which do not have in place adequate laws to effectively regulate the activities in cyberspace as also those done in the electronic ecosystem. It is absolutely imperative that each and every country falling in Asia, must have in place, appropriate strong and stringent legal regimes pertaining to regulation of Cyberspace as also activities done using computers, computer system and computer networks so that Asia as a continent can boast of a strong e-economy.

Cyberlaw Asia aims to work with different governments as also lawmakers in different Asian countries to sensitize them about the need for having in place strong and stringent Cyber laws in their respective jurisdictions.

Cyberlaw Asia aims to work with lawmakers as also law making bodies and governments in providing them appropriate inputs and International best practices pertaining to growth of cyber law.

A large number of countries still exist in the Asian continent which do not have either adequate or at all any cyber legislation. This is likely to negatively impact the further growth of those countries, given the advent of the online economies. As such, Cyberlaw Asia aims to interact with various Governmental bodies to sensitize them about the need for upgrading and updating their national legislations to be in tune with the latest trends of Cyber law across the world.

One of the biggest challenges that Cyberlaw Asia faces today is that a lot of concerned stakeholders in lawmaking processes do not either have an orientation about the need for Cyber law nor are they convinced that having in place strong Cyber laws would ultimately assist and benefit their own jurisdictions and countries. For that purpose, Cyberlaw Asia is in touch with relevant members of the relevant stakeholders. Cyberlaw Asia also aims to disseminate more Information and knowledge about the latest emerging trends in Cyber law that could have a direct relevance to the requirements of Asia.
